Built to remain usable.
The interface should stay understandable across input methods, screen sizes, motion preferences, and different ways of perceiving content.
Our approach
Thinking Scan aims to follow WCAG 2.2 Level AA practices where they apply. This is an ongoing target, not a claim of independent certification.
The interface is designed around clear hierarchy, strong contrast, semantic page structure, and controls that do not rely on colour alone.
Keyboard and focus
Navigation, menus, forms, scan actions, dialogue, and library controls are intended to work by keyboard. Visible focus indicators show the current control.
Press Tab to move forward, Shift + Tab to move backward, Enter or Space to activate controls, and Escape to close supported menus and panels.
Vision, contrast, and zoom
Text and controls use high-contrast semantic colours. Pages are designed to reflow at narrow widths and support browser zoom without requiring horizontal page scrolling.
Images include concise alternatives where the image’s role can be described. Scan-specific visual detail may still require the dialogue or generated text result to make it accessible.
Motion and timing
The app honors your device’s reduced-motion preference. Decorative scanning and carousel movement are minimized when that preference is active.
Core tasks are not designed around strict time limits, and animated content is not required to understand a scan result.
Alternatives inside the app
- If camera capture is difficult, upload, drag and drop, or paste a public image URL.
- If pointing at an image is imprecise, use shade mode to select a larger area.
- If technical language is difficult, use Simplify.
- If English output is a barrier, translate the scan into another language.
Known limitations
Drawing a precise region over an image can be difficult with some assistive technologies. Generated image content may not contain a complete textual equivalent, and AI-generated descriptions may contain errors.
The current release has no direct support channel. The Learn guide includes operating alternatives and troubleshooting while accessibility work continues.
